Introduction

I am Thomas Derflinger, an independent software developer and entrepreneur. This blog documents my projects and insights on topics that drive innovation in software development.

As a freelance software developer, I am available for client engagements, with a preference for remote or hybrid projects within Europe. My primary areas of expertise include GIS, IoT, electronics, and educational technology. I also like Virtual/Extended Reality (VR/AR/XR).

I help organizations accelerate innovation and bring strategic perspectives to technology initiatives. My focus is on delivering solutions that enhance operational efficiency, create competitive advantages, and drive measurable business results.

Software Stack

The software tech stack I am very familiar with:

JavaScript and TypeScript are my favorite languages and I have already worked as a trainer for JavaScript courses. React and Vue are my favorite front-end frameworks. Python is also a well-liked language of mine, and I also appreciate Go and Java.

Languages Spoken

I am fluent in German, English, French and Spanish. Also, I know some Romanian (B1), Czech (A2) and Mandarin Chinese (A2).

Certifications

I hold certifications in TypeScript, Linux Administration (LPIC 1 - 101), and am an OMG UML Professional. Additionally, I am Python PCEP certified and a Graph Developer Associate for Apollo GraphQL. I have completed the Introduction to RISC-V course from the Linux Foundation and the AI Fluency course by Anthropic.
